【NISEKO】Mountain Lights 2024 Are You Ready?
"Mountain Lights " is a large-scale light art installation first held in the summer of 2022 at the expansive and year-round Niseko Hanazono Resort in Hokkaido.
This spectacular light installation is the first work by British artist Bruce Munro in Japan.
In 2024, two new large-scale exhibits will be added, bringing more immersive experiences of color and music...
Visitors can take a gondola ride to admire four installations from above, including a 1.3-kilometer-long light art piece. After disembarking, they can leisurely stroll along the pathways to view the artworks up close.
On select nights during the event, there will be fireworks displays and creative performance art incorporating Ainu music, dance, fire elements, and fire dancing (for details, please refer to the information).
Additionally, there will be occasional food trucks, allowing you to leisurely enjoy the charm of art in the Niseko night.

Bruce Munro's art installation "Fireflies," created using optical fibers, consists of 180,000 subtle points of light linked together in layers. These illuminated points form a 1.3-kilometer-long glowing ribbon, outlining the base of Mount Annupuri in Niseko. The installation seamlessly integrates with the surrounding environment, lighting up the area for visitors.
From the gondola's summit station, you can view "Mountain Lights" and the nightscape of Kutchan City.
